Here you'll find a list of our upcoming events and how to book your place.  Some of our events don't require you to book but it's always helpful if you can let us know if you plan on coming.  You can either email us or message us on Facebook.

Saturday 11th July 2026 - Plant Walk with Local Botanist Gerry Firkins

Join us for a leisurely stroll through Owlthorpe Fields with Gerry Firkins to learn about local plant life!

Come and join us for a delightful plant walk on Owlthorpe Fields with the knowledgeable Gerry Firkins. Gerry is a local botanist who has led field meetings and taught plant identification for Sheffield University, WEA and the RSPB since the 1980s and is now a tutor for the Botanical Society of the British Isles.

Come and explore the beautiful flora and learn about the various plants that call this area home.

Friday 10th July 2026 - Visit to Sheffield Archives

Sheffield City Archives 10.30am - 1.30pm

As part of our Heritage Lottery Fund we can offer up to 10 free places to visit Sheffield Archives to research Owlthorpe and Mosborough Moor. Free event.

Orchard volunteer days for 2026

With much still to do in the orchard and maintenance throughout the year we are implementing some regular volunteer days throughout 2026.  The dates are shown below.  No need to book, meeting time will be 10.00am at the Orchard gate but please do check out our FACEBOOK page the day before to ensure that it is still going ahead because weather conditions may necessitate short notice cancellation on occasion. 

All welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult.  We'd love to see some of you there!

28th February, 20th March, 24th April, 22nd May, 26th June, 24th July, 21st August, 25th September, 23rd October, 20th November, 11th December

Owlthorpe Fields volunteer days for 2026

In addition to the orchard volunteer days we are also hosting some volunteer days down on the Fields.  Under the supervision of our local SCC ranger, Nick Blood, we will be helping to maintain and enhance the fields for the benefit of flora, fauna and you, our local community. Again, please do check our FACEBOOK page in case we have to cancel at short notice and to find out the meeting location and times as these will vary.

All welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult.  We'd love to see some of you there!
